Teacher Preparation at the University of Cincinnati

The process at UC to prepare teachers for both urban and rural schools begins with the immersion of candidates into classroom settings and direct contact with students. As the new teachers gain understandings of their learners and their lives, effective instructional strategies are developed. Support is provided through coaching and mentoring by program faculty and experienced teachers. The new teacher candidates are challenged to reflect on their performance and ways to improve as well as to develop new understanding of the content they are teaching. More information.
