Video: Hands-on Math Activity

In an attempt to make a math lesson stick for his high schoolers, WW Georgia Teaching Fellow Marcus Stevens came up with a hands-on way for students to experience graphing. With a life-sized graph on the ceiling of the classroom, string stretched to represent asymptotes, students did the calculations and then walked the graphs. As a career changer, Mr. Stevens is thrilled to be using the math and science skills he honed as a project manager and design engineer to teach mathematics at East Coweta High School. He received his master’s in education from Columbus State University as a 2015 WW Georgia Teaching Fellow.
