Teacher Prep Transformation: Behind the Scenes
From colleagues at Piedmont College in Georgia come these shots of a collaboration—real and virtual—where faculty rolled up their sleeves to develop a new, clinically intensive, academically rigorous preparation program for secondary STEM teachers in high-need schools.
The WW Georgia Teaching Fellows at Piedmont will begin their work this later this year. After a long series of discussions, program director Julie Palmour and her team wrapped up their planning for the new Fellowship program in mid-May and will now prepare to welcome the first class of Fellows, soon to be announced.
Piedmont is one of five campuses—along with Columbus State University, Georgia State University, Kennesaw State University, and Mercer University—to host the WW Teaching Fellowship in Georgia. Georgia joined the Fellowship program in 2014; the Fellowship also operates in Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, and Ohio.
