The annual Career Enhancement retreat brought Fellows and mentors to Wesley Chapel, Florida, this August. The 2017 Fellows presented their current research projects, worked with their mentors, and networked with fellow academics, all while having a little fun, as seen in the photo gallery above. The 30 Fellows—early-tenure-track professors at some of the nation’s top institutions—receive funding to pursue a research or book project during the Fellowship term and are mentored throughout by experienced colleagues. The Career Enhancement Fellowship for Junior Faculty is funded by the Andrew W. Mellon Foundation and seeks to increase the presence of minority junior faculty members and other faculty members committed to eradicating racial disparities in core fields in the arts and humanities.
