STEM Teacher Prep on Medium

This week is New Jersey STEM week, a time to recognize the incredible work being done in the STEM fields across the state. In New Jersey, as well as across the nation, it is more important than ever for students to receive a strong STEM education. WW’s Patrick Riccards explains in a commentary on Medium:

“Whether one wants to become a rocket scientist or a poet, there is no denying that children today benefit from a background in the STEM disciplines. The big question is where and how do we find the teachers, particularly in our high schools, to deliver that benefit?”

The full commentary goes on to answer that question, expanding on the importance of strong STEM teacher prep through programs like the Woodrow Wilson Teaching Fellowship, which operates in Georgia, Indiana, Michigan, New Jersey, and Ohio. Read the full commentary here.
