The Mellon Mays Gap Assistance Program (GAP) was launched this year to help Mellon Mays Fellows who have recently graduated maintain their graduate school ambitions and progress towards an academic career.

To help Fellows in the process of applying for graduate school, the Mellon Mays GAP hosts graduate school bootcamps each spring and fall. The multi-day events include panel discussions with faculty and current graduate students, lectures on the graduate school selection process, writing and personal statement workshops, as well as networking opportunities for those in attendance. In May, Fellows gathered at a bootcamp at the University of Texas, Austin in May. (See photos above.)
