This past month, the WW Academy welcomed its 10 Design Fellows—a creative, entrepreneurial group of recent college grads and professionals, passionate about teaching—to its Cambridge campus. During their first few weeks in residence, Design Fellows learned about design thinking, got to know each other, and began working with students and observing teachers to establish a baseline for their work throughout the year ahead. The Design Fellows will help build and refine the WW Academy’s mastery-based program, and test all curriculum, assessments, games, simulations, and other components developed by the WW Academy and MIT. The competencies are the basis of an interactive, challenge-based curriculum designed to ensure that prospective teachers can demonstrate both what they have learned and how they will use it in a classroom setting. Read more about the Design Fellows here and see what their early work looked like in the gallery above.
